The GCGT Grand Finale held on Saturday at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. GCGT is a Christian talent competition that began in 2011 and is organised by the `City of David’, Victoria Island, a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. A teenager has allegedly committed suicide in Ekiugbo, Ughelli North of Delta State, following low scores in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Simply identified as Loveth, she was said to have been displeased that the 163 she scored is inadequate for her to study Medicine in the university. Loveth was found dead yesterday morning in her home. The Nation gathered that the deceased was suspected to have taken three bottles of a dangerous insecticide, known as Sniper. According to sources, Loveth had gone to check her result on Tuesday, and discovered that she scored far lower than she expected. The 18-year old was said to have left the result centre distraught and weeping profusely. A relative of the deceased, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said her parents, who still believed their daughter could still be revived, made last minute efforts to save her life. “She was said to have scored about 163 in the JAMB exam.
