Has it got to this?

Image
A junior secondary school pupil 1 of Lekki British International School, Lagos, allegedly made an attempt to poison his 11-year-old female classmate, for beating him to the first position. The 12-year-old reportedly sneaked into the school’s laboratory, stole sulphuric acid and ethanol, which he poured in the water bottle of his classmate. The incident was said to have taken place on June 14, when the school was planning for the third term examinations. He was caught by two students, who reported him to the school management. When questioned, he reportedly admitted committing the offence, saying that he was envious of the girl for beating him to the first position in the first and second terms. Meanwhile, conflicting reports have trailed the response of the school management to the issue, with some saying the boy has been expelled while others say he was pardoned. “The boy has been expelled with immediate effect. The girl is in school and she is fine. We have zero tolerance for s...

Academic Preparation and Choice of Career Path

Image
When teenagers succeed in academics they are definitely laying the foundation of a successful career; not minding the areas they will want to pursue as a career path or occupation. In today's world, education is needed in virtually all aspects of life, be it entertainment, business or academic endeavours. Therefore, you must not only get education but make the best of it so that you can stand tall wherever you find yourself. Often times you hear teenagers talk about career in footballing, music, modeling, fashion and other show-business. They sometimes feel that pursuing academic career in line with this is tantamount to waste of time. But this is far from the truth to the best of my understanding. So often when careers are pursued without proper education it causes regret and limitations. An excerpt from the book above. Contact me on my whatsapp no 08091819313 for your copy.

Eh, exam is here finally.

Are you ready for this term examination? The journey of 13 weeks is about to end. Well, to those who have been reading before now I say well-done and to others, it's better to be late than to be the late. To this effect I want to briefly discuss with you: STUDYING AND READING TIPS *Start studying on time. As soon as the term begins. Time wait for no one. *Eliminate all distractions before you start reading so as to benefit maximally. *Pray before you start reading. The scriptures says" Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass". *Do a general survey of what you want to read. *Have a pen and a notebook with you while studying. *Concentrate on what you are reading. Don't let your mind wonder. *Make sure you are in a comfortable position. Don't lie down to read. Sit up and straight. *Summarize vital information after reading. *Answer the questions at the end of the lessons in your textbook or class notes. If you can...

Another Sexual Myth.

Image
#Sex During Period is Safe# Has that been said to you before?Don't fall for that crap. It's from the pit of hell. It's the handiwork of the grandmaster himself, the devil. He is always on the move looking for prey. That's what the Bible says about him. Say NO to SEX!

Have you read this before?

My son, pay attention to my wisdom, and listen closely to my insight,  2   so you may carefully practice discretion and your lips preserve knowledge.  3   For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil.  4   But in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a double-edged sword.  5   Her feet go down to death; her steps lead to Sheol.  6   You aren’t thinking about where her life is headed; her steps wander, but you do not realize it.  7   Now, children, listen to me. Don’t turn away from what I am saying.  8   Keep far away from her, and don’t go near the entrance to her house,  9   so that you don’t give your honor to others, and waste your best years;  10   so that strangers don’t enrich themselves at your expense, and your work won’t end up the possession of foreigners.  11  ...

COMING GENERATION SCARES ME...REAL HARD!

Image
While we have been busy talking about Nigeria of today, I wonder if we have spared a thought about how this country will be in the next TWENTY-FIVE years. On October 1, 1979, when Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari was sworn-in as president, Goodluck Jonathan was just a 22 year-old undergrad of University of Port-Harcourt. Shagari was 54 years old. Ayo Fayose was 19 years old. Bukola Saraki was 17. Yemi Osibajo was 22. The generation of the likes of Shagari, Richard Akinjide, Adisa Akinloye, Sabo Barkin Zuwo, Ifeanyi Nwobodo, Ume Ezeoke, Akin Omoboriowo, Olusola Saraki, Sunday Awoniyi, Garba Nadama, Awal Ibrahim and so on has gone for good! Some of us in our 40s, 50s and 60s when in school, either in the university or secondary school, had lofty dreams, both personal and societal. We were always motivated by nationalists and inventors who had impacted positively on the cause of humanity.  We were voracious readers of novels and other books. Dear Young Man: A Guide To Mentoring

Image
I trust these tips will guide you so you can maximize the relationship: 1. A mentor is not a meal ticket. I don't provide money. I provide wisdom. Many people don't need mentors. What they need are business partners. Don't ask your mentor for financial favours. That will ruin the relationship. Rather ask for wisdom and guidance. Stop asking for money. If you get the wisdom, money is just a matter of time. 2. A mentor cannot solve all problems. I don't have a magic wand. I can talk to you about finance, leadership, purpose, business and excellence but I can't suggest who to marry to you. I don't know all things. I'm not the Holy Spirit. Certain things still remain your responsibility including the decisions you make. Your decisions are ultimately yours. Remember that even if I counsel you, your failures are strictly yours. I can't take responsibility for what you should. Recognize the expertise of the mentor. 3. Mentoring is a long term relation...

Things to consider when opening your first student account

Image
Olubode Olusesan  /  5 hours ago With   Nike  Popoola 09055512063 (sms only) [email protected] Many students will leave the snug confines of their childhood to study elsewhere. For many 18-year-olds, this newfound freedom will also bring the first taste of financial independence. While some may already have savings accounts in place, most will have to set up new accounts as they leave home and manage day-to-day cash flow for the first time, according to http://time.com. Parents may worry that their children will stumble. After all, even adults make unnecessary banking errors all the time. But plenty of mistakes can be avoided with a little bit of planning and foresight. Students should consider the following seven rules before starting a relationship with a bank: *Focus on free: Almost by definition, students don’t have a lot of money, so they need to be especially conscious of fees that can eat away at what little funds they do have. Look for ...

Diligently Pursue Wisdom

Image
Proverbs 4  1   Listen, children, to your father’s instruction, and pay attention in order to gain understanding.  2   I give you sound teaching, so do not abandon my instruction.  3   When I was a son to my father, not yet strong and an only son to my mother,  4   he taught me and told me, “Let your heart fully embrace what I have to say; keep my commandments and live!  5   Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget or turn aside from the words of my mouth!  6   Do not abandon her, and she will protect you. Love her, and she will watch over you.  7   Wisdom is of utmost importance, therefore get wisdom, and with all your effort work to acquire understanding.  8   Prize her and she will exalt you. Indeed, if you embrace her, she will honor you.  9   She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will present to you a crown of ...

Birthright on SALE!!!

Image
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.Gen25:34. I am directed to speak to you this season and time not to despise your heritage because of things that will perish. In this time that your parents may not be able to meet up your demands to look good mostly due to this economic recession. Don't sell your heritage. The story of the two young men from the scripture quoted above is a replica of what so many young people today are doing. In a bid to enjoy today you dispossess your tomorrow. One outing with that boyfriend or girlfriend, one sexual escapade, one Christmas/New year dress, one bottle of alcohol,  one stupendous and  foolish mistake could spell doom for your future. Esau never considered the harm that singular decision he made  could so negatively impact his whole life time to the extent it does. There is a battle going on in your life and you need to be ...

What has changed in YOU!

Image
I don't jealous you people, not so much because of the myriad of challenges that confronts you. But, so much because of the way and manner some of you are living ignorantly in this clime and time. A look into your  activities, based on interaction and observation suggest some of you are still living in the analogue age. Visionless, lack of ideology, indifference and perceived laziness. You can't give what you don't have. Enough of jamboree, funfair and positive declarations that are not back up with action. Change is a phenomenon; you cannot herald what you are not prepare for. Little wonder our present leadership with the"change mantra" just realized that as a Nation we were not spiritually, mentally, economically and socially prepare for their so called change! They therefore came up with the saying "change begins with me".Medicine after death! Young man what has changed in you recently? Do a  quick check on yourself. When last did you read ...

Those Who Will LEAD tomorrow must DEAL with today!!!

Image
Joseph, David, Daughters of Zelophehad, Daniel, Medrack, Shadrach, Abednego, Jephthah even with his humiliating  background, all had the opportunity to ruin the great destiny embedded in them. But, they dealt with it ruthlessly .Today history is paying them for  their efforts. Nothing goes for nothing.I bet you, it wasn't a mince meat either for the three Hebrew boys In that fiery furnace or Daniel in the lion's den! It was simply a matter of discipline, diligence and determination. Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will work for kings, not unimportant people. Their counterparts,in the person's of Judas, Orpah, the girl who went back to her god, Amnon the rapist, Absalom, Rehoboam, the young man who rejected the counsel of the elders, Samson the man who died with his enemies did not consider that the devil is a good student of history. Rev12:10a says "For the one who accuses our brothers, who accuses them day and night in the presence of our God," My dea...

Look At What You Are Wearing!!!

Image
It's not fun or funny. No, it's rather a reflection of what you carry. After all, the way you dress is the way you are addressed! The scriptures says in Matt15:11"   It is not what goes into the mouth that makes a person unclean. It is what comes out of the mouth that makes a person unclean.”  When you wear clothes with the following inscriptions you don't need anybody to tell us what goes on in your mind for as he thinks within himself, so he is. “Eat and drink!” he’ll say to you, but his heart won’t be with you. Beloved teenager be careful the way you dress as that determines the way you will be addressed and the kind of attraction you get to yourself. It's often said that like begets like. Have a blissful weekend. TGIF!

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO EMULATE THIS SORT OF CORRECTIVE DISCIPLINE?

Image
Makekere University, Uganda is set to penalize two female students for parading themselves in very revealing clothes at the Finalist Education Dinner held on Saturday, May 26th. This is a  tertiary institution and the authorities are still holding on to discipline; a veritable tool for sustainable character development.  What do you say about private schools where PROM/DINNER PARTY is being organised for students who just finished secondary education and have a whole lot to go through in life? In such gathering sir/ma I can authoritatively tell you that a lot of nonsensical nonsense are being perpetrated by this youngsters which ought not to be so. LET'S RISE UP AGAINST THIS MORAL DECADENCE!!!
