The Advent of "Baby Mama" Syndrome!
Let us take a dive into the latest vocabulary in recent time-baby mama. As a Yoruba woman I can't claim ignorance of it among the married who do refer to their husbands or wives as "father or mother of my Child(ren)". Perhaps due to frictions, lack of care, lost love among the people concern among other things.
But the latest development seems to be worrisome,is becoming a trend among our youngsters, to the extent that one young man can have up to two or three baby mama's while he is still unmarried. What a world we live in today! The later part of Matthew 19:8 says"but from the beginning it was not so".
It seems our values and orientations has Africans have been totally eroded. There is dearth of morals among our youths. Civilization which was meant to be a blessing has suddenly become a curse. Sexual perversion, immorality, lasciviousness which Galatians 5:19-21,described as the work of the devil has become the orientation into becoming a celebrity!
The media is not helping issues with the positive coverage given to those who have fallen victim to this.
Honestly, getting a monthly stipend of between #150,000- 350,000 for being a baby mama is exciting, inviting and tempting. But the word of God says"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit" Ecclesiastes 7:8.
Child of God, daughter of Zion, this is my counsel that you resist the urge to be in this category of girls who sell their dignity and respect on the altar of mundane things that will pass away. Esau sold his birthright for a morsel of porridge, and he paid dearly for it. Be wise, eyes have not seen, ears have not heard what the master has prepared for YOU! Don't be in a hurry, so that you don't end in horror. You are destined for greatness! Accept Jesus today!
